Junior Leader Training
Troop 250 will be hosting a Junior Leader training session on March 27, 2010. The training will occur at Kamp Rappatomac in Lancaster County (inclement weather site Melrose United Methodist in Lewisetta, Va.) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Scouts from troops who are troop leaders or have the potential to be troop leaders are invited to attend. Scouts will supply their own lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Please contact Bob Parker if you are interested in sending scouts.

The training will follow the guidelines for troop leader training and will include a session on teaching with the EDGE method.

2010 Pinewood Derby
Date: Sunday, March 28th 2010
Time: Registration 1:30 - 2:00 pm Racing 2:00-5:00 pm
Location: Hamilton Holmes Middle School Gymnasium
Lunch: Pizza and drinks will be sold.
Registration fee: $5.00 per car

BOY SCOUT LEADER SPECIFIC TRAINING
During 2010 the BSA is pushing to have ALL direct contact scouting leaders complete specific training for the position in Scouting that they hold. By the end of 2011 ALL leaders must be trained or else units will not be allowed to register those adults.
For Boy Scout Leaders the training involves four phases:
1. Fast Start (Can be taken on-line)
2. This is Scouting (Can be taken on-line)
3. Youth Protection (Can be taken on-line)
4. Position Specific
