What is Exploring?
Exploring is career exploration through local companies and government agencies that focuses on life skills, citizenship, character development, leadership development and the democratic process.
Currently we have: 17 Posts

We ended the year with 377 youth In 2009, we have an aggressive plan to grow the Exploring District. Our focus will be on developing Law Enforcement Exploring Post. Other Career Clusters include: Art & Humanities Aviation Business Communications Engineering Fire Services Health Law & Government Science Skilled Trades Social Science By December 2009, we will have: 525 Youth Registered and 32 total Post established

Post 606, Chartered to Hanover Sheriff's Department, attended this years National Law Enforcement Exploring Competition held at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ this past July. They took 9 Explorers and 3 Advisors to the competition. While there they got the opportunity to meet and compete against other Exploring posts from all over the country. The On top of competing, the Explorers attended many seminars and demonstrations which were hosted by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Exploring is a worksite-based program. It is part of Learning for Life's career education program for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old.
