Post 606, Chartered to Hanover Sheriff's Department, attended this years National Law Enforcement Exploring Competition held at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ this past July. They took 9 Explorers and 3 Advisors to the competition. While there they got the opportunity to meet and compete against other Exploring posts from all over the country. The On top of competing, the Explorers attended many seminars and demonstrations which were hosted by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
The team competitions that the post competed in were the Traffic Accident Investigation, Traffic Stop Scenario, White Collar Crime Investigations, and Arrest and Search Competition. In all 4 competitions the Explorers had high scores.
The Explorers also competed in some of the individual competitions such as the Physical Agility Course, the Beam Hit Competition and the Police Entrance Examination. Of over a thousand explorers taking the exam, one of our Explorers, Matthew Segal, took the top score in the event and was recognized in the conference newspaper!
While in Arizona the post also traveled to Oatman, AZ to visit an old ghost town on old Rt. 66, to Lake Havasu, AZ where they went swimming and touring, to the Hover Dam, Las Vegas, NV for a day trip, and to the Grand Canyon.
