The national Boy Scout organization's "Good Turn for America" initiative addresses three critical areas of need in our society: hunger, homelessness and poor health. The Boy Scouts have collaborated with The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross and thousands of other community organizations, focusing the power of volunteerism on community issues.

Locally we work with the Central Virginia Food Bank for the annual Scouting For Food drive collecting 300,000 pounds of food.  Each unit should log its community service hours at www.goodturnforamerica.org.
