The School of Mischief is the Cub Scout School Night theme for 2008.
"Snips and Snails and puppy dog tails, that's what boys are made of" - Robert Southey
The School of Mischief lets "boys be boys" by providing a safe, adult-supervised environment for boys to participate in timeless activities that are a natural part of boyhood. Paper airplanes, bottle rockets, bugs and occasional mud and are all part of the School of Mischief, framed in Cub Scouting's'traditional educational program to instill values of self-reliance, responsibility and concern for others in boys ages first-grade to 10 years old.
Traditional Cub Scout activities designated to the "School of Mischief" satisfy every boy's innate desire to build, figure out things and explore - adventures you and your son can share in Cub Scouts!
There will be a presentation regarding the School of Mischief during the council-wide Join Scouting Night orientation on Saturday morning 9:30 am, August 16th at Fairmont Christian Church Click here for more details.
Manifesto for the School of Mischief
When a boy yearns to fire a BB gun, we teach him to do it safely. When a boy adventures into the woods, we teach him how to survive. When a boy scrapes his knee, we teach him how to take care of himself. When a boy plays capture-the-flag with his friends, we teach him sportsmanship. The School of Mischief. The Cub Scouts of America.
