Welcome to the Website for the Heart of Virginia Council of the Boy Scouts of America!

Since 1913, Scouting programs have thrived in the 'heart of Virginia', a tradition that we plan to continue for many, many more years.  It is our mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes based on the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

 This website has been carefully designed to guide you to the information you seek, whether it be to find a Cub Scout Pack for your son to join, to learn more about our outdoor programs or to make a gift to Scouting or to do a multitude of other things.  This website is a work in progress, so please give us your feedback if we are not satisfying your needs or if you can help us. 

We have a goal to recruit 4,000 new Cub Scouts during our School Night for Scouting at 232 elementary schools on Thursday, September 14th and Tuesday, September 19th.  Over 20,000 young people will be involved in nearly 600 Scouting units and Learning for Life Groups during 2006 in our 24 county Council.  Thank you for your interest in and support of the Heart of Virginia Council.  We always welcome your ideas that can help us to bring Scouting to more young people.  Feel free to call me directly at 804-204-2611 if I can help to meet your needs.
