Here is a brief overview of the components of the training continuum and a list of upcoming courses.

Fast Start Training
Fast Start training is the first step for any new volunteer and is to be delivered immediately after a new leader registers and before he or she meets with any youth member.

New Leaders Essentials
The new Basic Leader Training comprises two parts: New Leader Essentials for all unit-level leaders and Leader Specific training, which is based on the leader's unit-level position.

Leader-Specific Training
These break out sessions are for specific positions within a Cub Scout Pack , Boy Scout Troop, and Venturing Crew and some have an introduction to outdoor skills.

POSITION SPECIFIC TRAINING - part 2 of in-person training.

April 4, 2008; Boy Scout Leader Outdoor Training.  6:30 PM start, through Sunday April 6,  2:00 PM. (Cost $15) Location: T. Brady Saunders Scout Reservation Food will be provided for lunch (students will cook) and cracker barrel on April 5th. Timing and other details for the outdoor training will be discussed at leader Specific Training. Advanced Training Courses

Wood Badge is a leadership training course for adult leaders in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing.  The Heart of Virginia Council course will take place in the fall of 2008.  The next course is September 19-21 and October 18-20.  To learn more click here.
